The problem
AI assistants that generate interfaces tend to invent things or repeat the same patterns. I wanted them to consult real, sourced references before proposing a design.
What I built
- Imports a curated collection of websites, crawls them respecting robots.txt and rate limits, and stores screenshots.
- Search that blends semantic similarity with metadata and source diversity.
- Exposed as an MCP server with 13 tools: search, inspiration packs, page recommendations and per-project design memory.

Technical decisions
- Every data point keeps its provenance; unmeasured values are flagged instead of made up.
- Protection against requests to internal networks when crawling external URLs.
- Private access through VPN and token.

Internal tool in active use. I use it in my own projects, including the design research for this site.
